100 SUBS CELEBRATORY REVIEWS
This is the series where I talk about something of personal interest with you guys. Each week I’ll talk about 3 things in the hope that you too find the same experience that I had – or at least in the hope that you are entertained.
I HAVE JUST REACHED 100 SUBS!!!
Meine Mama hat einfach erlaubt dass ich cola trinken darf! Wie cool ist dass bitte?
Ich zocke fortnite, und trinke cola! YIPEEEEEE!
Yipeee indeed merrysome German boy, I share ur unbridled joy of not just Fortnite, Coca-Cola, and permitting Mothers, but of the 100 subs I have been undeservingly gifted.
To commemorate such a momentous occasion, it is due that I - ‘I Like Things’ - pay my Top Substack Goons the love, respect and attention they deserve.
Evangeline
Big shout out to evangeline, easily one of my top goons.
She has very much been a key reason for my continuing of this splendid Substack venture/side-gig/shits-and-gigs item. She been her since day one, and hopefully she be here till day quintillion.
I like her vibe, I like her writing, I like her support - I like it all.
I think my most fav post of hers is soothe - which u should all read cus it was beautiful, honest and sincere. Everything and anything one could ever need from reading something.
And evangeline carries such truth and sincerity with her everywhere she goes - which makes her support all the sweeter.
Rach
I like rach.
She be a real day-one so big shout out to R-Dawg!
I will always remember her comment on my first ever post
Rach is fantastic not only cus of her SWAG, but cus she seamlessly blends humour, creativity and power in everything she does.
Pls go read this splendid post on her hinge profile.
Amos Wollen
I like the funniest philosopher qua philosophical theologian on Substack AKA Amos Wollen.
Whilst our approaches to philosophy and theology stand quite differently, I would implore you all to read whatever Amos writes. It is both light yet hard-hitting; intellectual but not pretentious; and informative bar overwhelming.
Not just that, but I can assure you that if you ever have the pleasure of meeting him, you will come to find that he is a fantastic drinking partner!
the Sacred lilith
I like 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔰𝔞𝔠𝔯𝔢𝔡 𝔏𝔦𝔩𝔦𝔱𝔥 ♡
They are perhaps one of the koolest and most talented intellectual figures I interact with - and I genuinely look up to them in envy.
Cus when I’m jealous, it’s a positive thing. It means that I truly admire what you do, and I wish I could do it. Like how this guy plays the guitar and sings.
And I am jealous of the Sacred lilith. I am jealous of their ingenuity. I am jealous of their originality. I am jealous of their prose. And most importantly, I am jealous of their absolutely immaculate vibe.
It is thus a moral imperative that u all give them the respect they deserve, considering my jealousy of them.
Ezra
Big shout out to Ezra, another day-oner.
Quite possibly the best notes poster on substack, and as ‘I Like Things’, I damn well know what the notes economy is looking like.
I look thru all the slop on this platform - good, bad and sexy (no such thing as ugly).
And thru all this slop emerges Ezra, with the best goddamn notes like a diamond up the muff.
That’s my king ffr.
Also I thought this was really kool.
Undistributed Middles
I like Undistributed Middles
This be another one of my fav intellectual-pilled substacks.
It be these three goons who be writing essays and shit, and I be liking it.
And they be liking me, and I appreciate the support.
Here’s some of my fav stuff from them.
Essay on the performativity of coolness
Essay on Job and his suffering
Ben Walter
I like Ben Walter.
This is one of the koolest, most underrated and inspiring dudes I know on the stack.
His psych-med taper diaries are really something that should be wayyyyyyyy more popular than they currently are. Like I love reading them all the time, and I always get like this lil surge of joy whenever I know his day has gone well. Also, even though such diaries are so simple and succinct, it really speaks to me. Like it’s just like the perfect representation of life and the human spirit.
Hence why u should all check out Ben now!!!
The Crank
I like The Crank.
I mean, who can possibly resist a “washed-up drag hag to tell you exactly how to think.” Cus I know I can’t resist it one bit. No sir-ee I cannot!!
I move to such a thing like a scurvy riddled crack addict to french fries.
And I do not heed the Bible when it tells me to watch and pray lest temptation enter my heart. For I am tempted by suave cultural analysis, satirical substacking soliloquies, and those who r fans of Susan Sontag (Rest In Peace Queen).
I am also tempted by those who be Melania in drag and read from Michelle Obama’s autobiography to a crowd whilst holding a straight face.
Thus I am tempted by The Crank.
Now my poor hands are so teeny tiny and weary. I seldom write more, yet I would like to give a big shout out to all my other Top Goons who I could not include in this edition of things. [I apologise if I’ve left anyone out, my memory not good and I very eepy rn]
Here are the other blessed individuals whom I like very much and all of you must check them out or else I’ll do something not very nice: Tim Strong, Zalayka ☆, Celeste, Benjamin, Alicia Cai👒ampharosIPF♥️1d🌃RB, Thailand Strip Club Reviewer , hope(less) on sundays, Helen Grover , d3athbyf0resk!n , HP NOT LOVECRAFT, nadav, Koshmarov , ramblingrose , kissoftreachery , Christian S
So yeah, that’s this weeks edition of things. Stay tuned till next week for - wait for it - more things. That’s right guys, I’m gonna talk about more things. And then the next week after that. [Pause and think]. Yes that’s correct, more things will be discussed.
Cus at the end of the day, I like things, and I like to talk about things.
